José María Morelos, August (Galu Comunicación).- Young people from local Mayan Area, who study at the Intercultural Maya University of Quintana Roo (Uimqroo), will return to the next school year with a 50 percent discount on payment of their inscriptions, said the rectory´s office manager, Rafael Pantoja Sánchez.
Pantoja Sánchez, in an interview, pointed out that the discount is a fact; however, they have negotiated with federal goverment total free enrollment and thus beneficial for all university students, most of them from close indigenous communities.

The person in charge recognized that distance education is a unique challenge in the Mayan Area, since many young people come from communities where they live with marked technological limitations.
In that sense, he added that when pandemic for COVID-19 allows students return to classes in school, they will promote intensive sessions (without neglecting quality), to recover what has not been completed, since sanitary interruption.
