Cancun, August (Galu Comunicación).- Data Engineering and Organizational Intelligence student from University of the Caribbean (Unicaribe), Rafael Güitrón Lagunas, took part in the event “Hack Against Covid”, held by Codezoned, an international non-profit organization Tech Development Profit, which aims to educate and spread its fundamental philosophy that college and school students contribute to open code.
At the event, whose speakers come mainly from India, the Unicaribe student offered the virtual conference “Post Pandemic cross-country startup collaboration”; in which he highlighted the impact that coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) has generated in the Mexican economy, with more than 15 million unemployed; as well as the opportunity it represents for the transformation of economic activity through technological development.
Rafael Güitrón Lagunas, is an outstanding student of this university, and just a year ago he got the Award for Early Research Higher Level, from the Quintana Roo Council of Science and Technology (Coqcyt) for developing the “Quejapp” application, a tool that aims to reduce corruption.
In addition, two months ago, he was distinguished as “GitHub Campus Expert”, thus entering a platform that joins more than 50 million developers who work together to grow their own development teams, manage permissions and collaborate on projects.
According to available information, there are only 277 “GitHub Campus Experts” in the world and Rafael Güitrón Lagunas is the first in the mexican southeast, status that allowed him to evaluate other projects, mainly from Indian developers, and offer one of the previous conferences to the “Hack Against Covid”, an international hackathon that took place from August 7 to 9: http://hac.codezoned.com/.
