Felipe Carrillo Puerto, July (Galu Comunicación).- Merchants located in downtown of this locality launched the “Let’s Clean Felipe Carrillo Puerto from Coronavirus” program, as part of a business security project to protect citizenship from the pathogen and prevent contagions.
The leader of local merchants, Omar Meneses, indicated that the coronavirus is an issue that concerns merchants, because it severely affects not only the health of the community, but also the poor economy of hundreds of entrepreneurs in the locality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
According to this situation, he said that all of them have agreed to make a group of merchants and neighbors in order to launch a program that will benefit the entire population to face the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This program consists in cleaning the area where shops and houses are located by, first, washing the sidewalks, streets, as well as sanitizing our own spaces and shops, therefore, in these actions undertaken, we´ve seen the union and solidarity, but mainly the commitment to the health of ourselves and of our clients”, he said.
He added that “those are actions that ourselves have been taken, so we can guarantee that the area where the shopping malls are is not a focus of infection, where coronavirus could be spreaded.”

He added that, as part of this program, the merchants in the area are in charge of distributing mouth covers, to make their clients aware of the need of its use, which will be now, by law, an obligation, since the different businesses demand that customers, at time to enter, have those masks, and besides, wash every one´s hands.
Finally, he pointed out that it is important that more people join to these efforts, in order to face this disease that can affect, not only health, but economy, and this could cause this locality to declare itself again in a sanitary “red traffic light”.
