Kantunilkín, July 8 (Galu Comunicación).- Inhabitants from this town in the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas in the state of Quintana Rooo prevent residents from Tizimín, Yucatán, from accessing their territory in retaliation because the latter would have done the very same against them in that yucatecan eastern city.
The causes of that mess, which did not become in a riot, have not yet been specified, but they would be attributable to the fear fromCOVID-19 epidemic.
From early on, a group of Kantunilkín residents closed the way to yucatecans who tried to enter Quintana Roo, by the road that comes from Colonia, Yucatan.
Among them were suppliers, taxi drivers and individuals who wanted to go to Holbox Island in search of sources of employment.
This, because at the entrance to the city of Tizimin, Yucatan, its inhabitants did not allow the entry of any person who is from Quintana Roo, whether they have to go for medical reasons or other essential activities.
Given this, the inhabitants of Kantunilkin decided to block the way for the yucatecans, including the same suppliers of basic products needed in their own town.
In this sense, the leader of taxi drivers in this city, Julio Mariano Canul, said that since the health contingency began, people from Tizimín, Yucatán have not allowed anyone from Quintana Roo to access in that city, from where they can come to Kantunilkín.
The problem worsened last weekend, when several people from Lázaro Cardenas wanted to go to the neighboring state, but were not allowed to enter, what was now replicated in this side of the border.
